I feel like I barely got anything written this year, but I'm still doing these memes.

First, here's the one where you copy the first lines of each fic you wrote during the year. I don't actually remember seeing it around this year, but I saw it more than once a year ago and never did it myself. I'm including unfinished/unposted fics I've worked on this year but excluding any drabbles I don't have collected in one place and anything written for RP purposes.

Justin doesn't date.

She returns to Caprica for them -- for him -- with a whole SAR team.

He lives in a house by the shore, choice oceanfront property.

Samuel T. Anders was not from a religious family.

"Sam."

Cylon.

Blood that shouldn't have been spilled trickles into the hybrid's tank.

Her hand's much smaller than his, the nails well-manicured but unpolished, and her palm is soft and warm but her shake has all the firm enthusiasm he could want.

Nine days after he attended the much-rumored memorial for Kara Thrace, Lee Adama returned from his trek into the mountains.

The problem with the Briar was threefold.

You want to write poetry about the curve of her spine in the moonlight, the warm flush on her skin, the rough pads of her slender fingers, the way her hair kinks after a long day in a braid.

And next, snatched from [livejournal.com profile] wanderlustlover,

Favorite(s) of the batch: My personal favorite of the fics I wrote this year may be Five Times Sam Anders Gets the Girl (Back). Smutty stuff I end up writing because I feel like I have writer's block doesn't usually rank so highly for me, but this one does because it's consistently sprung to mind all year as I've written other things. This Could Take All Night, written for the [livejournal.com profile] pyramidofdreams exchange, doesn't feel perfect, but I have a soft spot for it too.

Most under appreciated by the universe: I don't know. Just going by the ratio of known hits to comments, I guess it'd have to be If I Only Had a Heart.

Most fun to write: Tough! This Could Take All Night edges out the competition, but not by much.

Sexiest fic: Five Times Sam Anders Gets the Girl (Back). Or maybe Reinvention (see next answer).

"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" fic: Uh, all my fic this year was pretty tame. If you want to shame me about my celebrity crush you can tease me about how I felt the need to write Kara Thrace/Justin Patrick after only one episode of Fairly Legal had aired.

Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Echoes, the Final Five-populated BSG story I wrote for [community profile] ineedmyfics this year. It wasn't my best story -- I keep thinking it would've really benefited from being a longer fic, which required more time than I had in the process -- but it kind of wins by default because nothing helps me understand a character's canon actions like trying to write from his or her point of view.

Hardest fic to write: Everything I wrote in December, basically.

Biggest surprise: Someone You Don't Know. It came out of nowhere and had to be done quickly.

Most telling fic: Reinvention, the Kara/Justin fic? The closest I've ever gotten to writing RPF was a weird dream I had earlier this year and I don't want to get any closer than that, but apparently the undeniable bottom line is that while I'm specifically a sucker for Kara/Sam I like the chemistry between Trucco and Katee in general. That little fic may prove to be my gateway drug to Kara Thrace/almost any Trucco character.

What's next? I want to write a ficlet or two for fandom stockings before the 6th. And then I'm determined to write something for the BSG charity drive. Beyond that, it's my goal this year to finish the original fic I've had percolating in my head for the past year or so. I'll never publish anything I'm only thinking about.
